Colour, cards and calm

Computer keyboards were swapped for crayons at a vibrant evening hosted by Ananya Cards and Propose PR last week at The House of Elemis in Mayfair.

Cleverly picking up on the adult colouring-in trend (six of the Amazon 20 best-sellers are adult colouring books), stationery trends for the coming year were showcased with a theme of art therapy. Fun and fitting since Ananya’s signature designs burst with exotic shades and patterns.

The night began with mimosas and tasty canapés garnished with edible flowers. Pretty!

We then had the chance to colour in our own cards whilst listening to a trend presentation - before moving to another room for a group colouring effort. It was interesting to see the giant board evolve into a riot of colours!

So what can you expect for 2016? Design Director, Vaishali divided it into six key trends:

Meadow botanicals

Foliage

Indigo

Paisley

Globe-trotter

Geometric

Our evening finished with a mini-treatment, the perfect end to an evening which educated everyone on the benefits of colour therapy. I certainly felt much calmer and more focused.

The Speed Spa at Elemis is also an exciting discovery, offering condensed treaments for 15-30 mins at affordable prices. Perfect for anyone on the go or in need of a quick fix. As a notorious shoulder huncher, I THOROUGHLY recommend the Past Tense neck and shoulder massage which worked a small wonder (£20 for 15 mins).
